Empowering marginalized populations by maximizing reflective intelligence: a pragmatic approach to problem solving
Abstract
This article explores how to stimulate the minds of marginalized people by instilling habits that maximize reflex intelligence. The author explains intelligence from the perspective of American pragmatism and proposes tools that can empower Iranian single mothers in their daily lives. The case of a single mother participating in an empowerment project in Iran demonstrates that reflective intelligence is a dynamic process that can be enhanced using educational tools. The authors propose a smart method model for further evaluation and application in empowerment-oriented social work practices for poor and marginalized groups.
