Abstract

Although aspiration pneumonia is associated with severe morbidity and mortality, little is known about aspiration pneumonia in patients with carbon monoxide poisoning, a leading cause of poisoning-related death. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the prevalence, clinical effects, and risk factors of aspiration pneumonia in patients who lost consciousness due to carbon monoxide poisoning. method A retrospective analysis of carbon monoxide poisoning registrations between January 2008 and December 2015 was performed in the emergency department. Includes all unconscious adult patients with carbon monoxide poisoning.
