The urbanization trends in India is a direct reflectionof the structural changes that are taking place inthe economy.5Much of the growth of the economycomes from economic activities that are likely tobe concentrated in and around existing cities andtowns; particularly large cities.6Mark Jefferson haspropounded the primate city concept which is basedon the agglomeration effect by which a city growsdisproportionately to outstrip the others; this is whathappens in the current scenario.The numbers of metro cities7in India are continu-ously increasing from 12 in the year 1981 to 23 in1991,35in2001and54in2011.8Thisstudyisaboutthe quality of life in seven metro cities (Kanpur,Lucknow, Ghaziabad, Agra, Meerut, Varanasi andAllahabad) of Uttar Pradesh. There is wide variationin the availability of urban infrastructure in the citiesand consequently many of them deprived in some orthe indicators which are used for the analysis
The current data set is originally a multivariate form,but due to its collection method it is reduced as abivariate data set. Based on the DHS data of India(given in the Appendix), the present outcomes havebeen derived based on simple bivariate correlationcoefficient. It has been mentioned in the MaterialsSection that the data collection method was faulty.If the data set can be collected as a multivariateform, many interesting outcomes can be obtainedvery easily. Yet, the present findings show many as-sociations of VAWH with the demographic factors,where some associations are significant, and someare insignificant. The current outcomes may be ex-tended in the multivariate data analysis. The presentfindings show that the education level of women is aprotective factor of VAWH. So, women’s educationis very important. In addition, urban culture canreduce VAWH, so the rural culture can be improved.Moreover, employment status of women is to beincreased to reduce VAWH. Finally, the morality ofhuman beings should be improved along with strongadministrative punishment for VAWH to be ensured

For knowing-why, the competencies were proactive personality,opennesstoexperience,andcareerinsight.Thecom-petenciesforknowing-whomwereexperiencewithamentor, internal network, and external network. Forknowing-how, the competencies were career/job-relatedskills andcareer identity.Based onthe careercompetencies identified by Eby et al. (2003) forthreewaysofknowing,Khong(2010)hasdevelopeda questionnaire to measure career competencies ofhotel managers in China
